Unity comprises the mind-set and interventions that build oneness and harmony at all the administrative and operational levels (committees, departments, church boards and the laity). In John 17 Jesus indicated that unity would be a strong witness to the world that would convince the world of the gospel. In Acts 2 we learn that the church grew rapidly spiritually and numerically as a result of unity. The outpouring of the Holy Spirit to complete the mission is predicated on the unity of the saints.
The Unity pillar is the foundation for church growth. Therefore, it is the basis on which evangelism and nurturing can thrive.
